Vision Boards, aka Mood Boards, Dream Boards, or Inspiration Boards, are used to visualize the path toward a goal. Let this exercise help hone your focus, daily.
• Glue stick, tape, and or stapler • Magazine cut outs, printed images from the internet, fabric, stickers, etc.
• In your sketchbook, brainstorm about the question “Why Art, Why Now?” for 5 minutes. • Highlight your favorite concepts, answers, and ideas. • Gather images and text to represent these ideas, from the internet, magazines, etc. • Adhere them to the front of your sketchbook to remind you of your intentions and goals for the course and beyond.
• Go deeper with a free-write on the same question - “Why Art, Why Now?” Free-writing just means writing without stopping, stream of consciousness, for a set time. Even if you’re writing ‘blah blah blah,’ keep your pen moving.
