Overview:

Doodling is a relaxing, playful exploration that can lead you directly to your unique style and voice.

Materials:

• Sketchbook
• Your favorite pencils, pens, or markers

Process:

• Let your hand wander while you sit back and relax.
• Listen to some music, a podcast, a movie or show… With a pen and sketchbook in hand, doodle. Just let the hand move over paper without thinking.
• Keep your sketchbook with you throughout the day, everyday. Pull it out whenever you have any down time and let your hand play.
• Later, i
ncorporate your favorite doodles into larger works.
•
If you’re stuck, try the Doodle Prompts below.

Sketchbook Reflection:

• After filling several pages, go back through your doodles, noticing what’s there. What do your doodles want to tell you?
