Seeds: The Fertile Void

This work explores how flora connects with the female-mother-body. I’m interested in the juxtaposition between the reproductive systems of plants and my own body, and each painting has a little dark space like a womb, cavern, seed, egg, or embryo.
The work looks playful and botanical, evoking bubble-style graffiti writing, but also contains deeper emotions about infertility, loss, hope, and joy.
The colors and forms are woven together with a biomorphic, freestyle painting technique, using acrylic on canvas. The work examines the transformative energy of womb spaces. It’s a celebration of life and lineage, and the question “where do we come from and where do we go?”
