Overview:

This exercise brings together all the lessons so far into one painting that illuminates our truest message for the world.

Materials:

• 30x30" stretched canvas
• Heavy body and liquid acrylic paints
• Brushes
• Palette
• Optional: spray bottle with water, rags, household items for stamping, marking, and scratching

Transcript

Process:

• Review all of your work for the Creative Path Workshop so far. Notice when your inner voice really came through. Jot down key words as you review, because these are clues to uncover your unique message.
• What 2-3 colors did you like best together?
• Consider using some of the actual text, and repeating some of your favorite shapes, forms, and objects from your doodles and drawings.
• Allow ideas for your painting to arise, with the intention of best conveying your message.

Sketchbook Reflection:

• Divide a square in your sketchbook into 3x3 squares, totaling 9 squares. Loosely sketch some favorite concepts on the page, keeping composition in mind. Use this sketch as a roadmap as you approach the canvas.
