Overview:

To bring a more complex idea to life, creating a mock-up can provide a helpful road map… they let you test out your ideas, practice techniques, and design your best composition.

Materials:

• Sketchbook and pencil
• Photoshop (optional)
• Magazine cut-outs, computer print outs, and or photos (optional)

Transcript

Process:

• In your sketchbook, draw a box or rectangle with the same proportions of your final surface, then loosely start sketching your ideas.
• Optionally, use magazine cut outs, print outs, and or photographs of elements you may wish to incorporate.
• Arrange the elements in your sketchbook or digitally with Photoshop. Test out the placement and colors until you feel ready to move onto the final work.
